Re: New listings at the NLC.

Did NLC make an announcement? Kinda weird to get upset at the club. There was an email back in March about it but I hadn't heard anything else until the sold out email Sunday. Couldn't find an NLC announcement on Twitter or FB. Oh well. I don't remember getting any Beer Club notice about the advent ...

And now the calendars are all gone.
Didn't even know they were available until I got the email saying they were sold out. What did they order, 10? Last year there were plenty available.

I managed to get one at the Merchant as well. Pretty nice! Looking forward to their collab with Mill St.

Re: Who should be allowed to rate beer?

I gave Horse Chops a 2.75 on my initial try. It had an aerosol taste to me (not uncommon to me in IPAs). Then on the 2nd try, after it settled in the growler, I gave it a 4. It was a huge improvement. IMO everyone's opinion is valid, even if you don't agree with it. The idea that only some people ar...

Re: Port Rexton Brewing - Ten Eighty Series Bottles

I really like their beers, wish it was more accessible. Got 2 empty growlers and no way to get them filled.

Re: 2016 Advent Calendars

I'm thankful for the opportunity to try these as well but I think my tastes are a bit different. I'm glad there's more of a variety of styles this year. There's only been a few I wasn't into. Although I enjoyed the Biir the massive head on it was a drag (had to scoop it off). I too didn't enjoy the ...

Re: Head to Head Review: Oatmeal Stout

St-Ambroise is pretty much the only stout I've tried and liked.

UXO wrote:Well, it might not be impartial, but it's accurate. The Martello is much improved, but still can't hold a candle to the St-Ambroise, which may in my humble opinion be the best stout in Canada.

Re: 2016 Advent Calendars

It doesn't have that common hop flavour that all Garrison have that makes most Garrison products unpleasant to me. So I enjoyed this much more. Enjoying the calendar so far. Anxiously waiting for the day 3 review. I am a few days ahead since I will be gone next week. But I think day 3 is almost a cl...

Re: New listings at the NLC.

I liked the Honey Lavender. Light, interesting flavours. Not something I'd drink frequently though.
The Schlenkerla Weizen tasted like Beggin' Strips smell. Smoked beers are not for me.
